Directions:
1) Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and sauté 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden and tender.
2) Stir in vinegar, cranberries, sugar, salt, and orange rind; Cook, stirring occasionally, 2 to 4 minutes or until liquid is reduced to about 2 tablespoons.
3) Spread cream cheese onto the crackers.
4) Top each with cranberry compote.
